Title: Most of All You

Author: Mia Sheridan

Publication Date: October 17, 2017

My Rating: ★★★★
From the New York Times bestselling author of Archer's Voice, Mia Sheridan delivers a heartwrenching new stand-alone contemporary romance.

A broken woman . . .

Crystal learned long ago that love brings only pain. Feeling nothing at all is far better than being hurt again. She guards her wounded heart behind a hard exterior and carries within her a deep mistrust of men, who, in her experience, have only ever used and taken.

A man in need of help . . .

Then Gabriel Dalton walks into her life. Despite the terrible darkness of his past, there's an undeniable goodness in him. And even though she knows the cost, Crystal finds herself drawn to Gabriel. His quiet strength is wearing down her defenses and his gentle patience is causing her to question everything she thought she knew.

Only love can mend a shattered heart . . .

Crystal and Gabriel never imagined that the world, which had stolen everything from them, would bring them a deep love like this. Except fate will only take them so far, and now the choice is theirs: Harden their hearts once again or find the courage to shed their painful pasts.

Crystal has been through a rough life filled with pain and a trail of heartbreak ever since she was a kid. Left with a low self esteem and a sense that she can never feel or receive real love she spends her days trying to make ends meet, and her nights working at the local strip club.

Her life is filled with this same routine until Gabriel walks into the club requesting her for one oddly specific request. Running from his own dark and hurtful past Gabriel just wants to get one lingering thing about is past worked out so that he can fully move on and live his best life possible. Working at the local quarry, he spends his days chipping away at stone to create beautifully detailed pieces for numerous clients. Despite his past Gabriel keeps his mind optimistic and positive at all times, because even though he knows just how hard life can get, he still refuses to let the bad thoughts keep him from living a happy life. Giving the past the power over his life to keep him unhappy is something he refuses to do.

Once he meets Crystal he sees a beautiful women with sad eyes and a hard past of her own, who has given up on the idea that she can be happy and loved by the people around her. Even though he has asked her to help him with his own task, he thinks that he just might be able to help her with overcome something she didn't even think she was worthy of doing.

Being loved.

The journey is in no way easy, the road to get their is rough for the both of them. But the end results will have them both believing in themselves, and each other.

Mia Sheridan is an author that I have to read in doses, because of how heartbreaking and angsty her novels can get. Despite me owning literally all of her books on my kindle, and my want to binge all the words, I know that I have to do so slowly so that I can keep my heart intact (momentarily) and savor at my own pace. When I found out she was not only releasing a new book, but one that would be traditionally published, I was not only excited for the new release but also elated that she was picked up by a publisher. You can tell she's one of those authors that pours her heart and soul into every book and it's so great to see her hard work pay off.

Going into Most of All you I knew that it was gonna be a heart-breaker from the prologue. I found myself deeply invested in both of our main characters and the lives they had been dealt. Characters and successful character development are super important to me in every single book I read, so I was happy that we got that in this novel. And I really enjoyed the storyline in itself because I've never read a book that had a male mc go through what Gabriel did.

Now I do have to say that for all that I loved I still had a few problems with some aspects of the story. If you guys have been reading my reviews for enough time now then you know that I'm VERY picky when it comes to story pacing. I don't like feelings to start popping in too fast and serious, I like a nice buildup of everything so that the story and relationships feel and progress more naturally. There are very few books that can go the opposite of this and not bother me. With that being said I'm sure you all can see where I'm heading with this lol. I really wish that we had just a tiny bit more buildup in the story, and had some slowing down of feelings as things went on. At first everything was fine and going good for my tastes, then there was a situation that occurred and I felt like because of said situation that things started to speed up a bit, then they would kind of mellow out and then go up a little more. I think had the progression been a bit smoother and less bumpy at some areas I wouldn't have cared quite so much, but then again it could just be my picky ass lmao. I'm sure some people won't have an issue, especially if this is something they like being shown in their books, but if you're like me then just be aware.

Overall Most of all You is an emotionally charged novel about to very damaged souls trying to move on from their dark pasts in the best ways they know how. Fans of Mia Sheridan will love this because it showcases her signature heartfelt writing style and memorable characters in a new traditionally published way. New readers will get to experience her novel and all the feels while also discovering a new fave.
