Stuck-Up Suit - Book Review

TITLE: Stuck-Up Suit

AUTHOR: Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

PUBLICATION DATE: April 9, 2016

MY RATING: ★★★
It started out like any other morning on the train.
Until I became mesmerized by the guy sitting across the aisle.
He was barking at someone on his phone like he ruled the world.
WHO DID THE STUCK-UP SUIT THINK HE WAS...GOD?
Actually, he looked like a God. That was about it.
When his stop came, he got up suddenly and left. So suddenly, he dropped his phone on the way out.
I might have picked it up.
I MIGHT HAVE GONE THROUGH ALL OF HIS PHOTOS AND CALLED SOME OF THE NUMBERS.
I might have held onto the mystery man's phone for days―until I finally conjured up the courage to return it.
When I traipsed my ass across town to his fancy company, he refused to see me.
So, I left the phone on the empty desk outside the arrogant jerk's office.
I MIGHT HAVE ALSO LEFT BEHIND A DIRTY PICTURE ON IT FIRST THOUGH.
I didn't expect him to text back.
I didn't expect our exchanges to be hot as hell.
I didn't expect to fall for him―all before we even met.
The two of us couldn't have been any more different.
Yet, you know what they say about opposites.
WHEN WE FINALLY CAME FACE TO FACE, WE FOUND OUT OPPOSITES SOMETIMES DO MORE THAN ATTRACT―WE CONSUMED EACH OTHER.
Nothing could have prepared me for the ride he took me on. And I certainly wasn't prepared for where I'd wind up when the ride was over.
All good things must come to an end, right? Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.

Soraya is a headstrong woman with a sharp attitude. She takes mess from no one, and she never will. After finding a stranger's phone on the subway and trying to return it she comes face to face with Graham a.k.a. Stuck Up Suit.

He's rude
He's Arrogant
And he gets under her skin like no other

Graham is a cocky business man who's only focus is his job, and is grandmother. He has no time for the feisty woman with the bright colored hair that calls him out on his bull on the regular. No matter how sexy she is and how much she intrigues him he vows to steer clear.

Until he doesn't...

Stuck Up Suit is a book I've been eagerly wanting to read since it released last year. After a grueling few weeks I felt like it was the perfect book to read and get my reading/blogging groove back. I knew I needed something a bit on the lighter side and the premise of this one seemed right up my ally. But sadly I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would.

When the story first opened up I was so into it, the idea of a girl finding a stranger's phone and and messaging him after he was a jerk sounded so good!! And with Soraya's no bull attitude and sharp tongue, and Graham's stoic nature I was ready for the sexual tension I knew would come.

It all started really strong then it steadily went downhill from there. One thing that I couldn't get with was the pacing. It seemed to me that they moved a bit too fast too quickly. I wanted more of the chase before they both fell so madly in love with one another. Now I've read books when couples fall in love quickly and only one has worked out good for me. I wanted to pump the breaks on them so many times, but I kept trudging along.

Which brings me to my next dislike; the plot twist thing that came along. It seemed so misplaced to me, but again I trudged along. IMO the plot twist could've worked for me had it been better. It felt like it was randomly pulled together to bring some shock and angst to the story, and it was done so messily. I think the way it was done and portrayed really dug a hole for me, but that's all I'll say because I like to keep things spoiler free.

In the end Stuck Up Suit had a promising beginning, but ended up falling a bit flat for me because of a little dose of inta love and an OTT plot twist. It's a quick little story to get through if you need something light to read though.

Until next time!!
